Q: Will you consider candidates outside of the USA?
Absolutely! We are expanding globally and seeking trainers to support training opportunities in virtual and in-person settings.
Q: During the Lead in Training program (July to November), is that a full time commitment for the entire time?
The Train the Trainer program is a temporary full-time commitment as we are building capacity to step into the role of a lead trainer. All program participants will work approximately 40 hours a week. All training activities occur between 8:30-5:00 Eastern Time/US. Some of that time is during weekends, when teaching modules.
Upon successful completion of the program, Candidates that become certified Lead Trainers work for iPEC on a part-time W2 basis (USA) and as independent contractors (International).
Q: How do you balance your coaching practice with being a lead trainer? In other words is the lead trainer position a commitment that supersedes private practice?
Our lead trainers have private coaching practices and train for iPEC on a part-time basis. Training dates are provided in advance so Trainers can schedule other activities around their iPEC training schedules. Beyond leading Modules, there are numerous other training opportunities throughout the year from webinars to tutoring, events planned for organizations and through our upcoming conscious community.
During the train-the-trainer intensive program, it is a full-time commitment for approximately 5 months of the training process. Full attendance is required in order to participate in this program, which begins July 7, 2022. The work week during this program is 40 hours, from 8:30-5:00p daily. When you are working during a training weekend, you would adjust the work week to assure proper time off.
Q: What is the time commitment per year for a lead trainer?
Lead trainers must commit to a minimum of 9 training Modules per year, which consists of 30 hours leading over a 3 day period. Most trainers teach 9-18 Modules per year.
Q: Is the 5 months training live and/or virtual? Is it M-F on the computer during certain hours? Any self-led training in that “full-time” commitment?
A full-time commitment means a 40-hour work week. The three weeks of intensive training will be at a set time and all participants are required to attend virtually on Zoom. Many regularly-scheduled planned activities will have set meeting times during the week. All times are scheduled during the US/EST time zone. Outside the required scheduled activities, there is flexibility with independent preparation and group practice time for the remaining work week.
Q: I don’t yet have my ICF PCC credential, can I still apply?
Yes, if you are close to receiving your ICF credential and you have fulfilled the requirements to earn it, you are welcome to apply for the role.
For applicants outside of North America we are open to applications from graduates who may be nearing the PCC while not quite there yet - a minimum of 350 hours are still required with a solid plan on how the PCC will be attained within the 4 months from the start of the Train-the-Trainer program. You must have your PCC credential to lead an iPEC training module.
The training team explores this question and the timing for the fall cohort extensively in our informational webinar, so if you haven’t yet viewed the replay, we invite you to do so for further clarification.
Q: Why do I need to have my PCC credential to apply?
The PCC Credential is an ICF requirement for instructors of an ACTP (Accredited Coach Training Program) and is required for those who teach core coaching competencies.
iPEC’s accreditation with the ICF is the most comprehensive accreditation which means we graduate students at the beginning PCC level in terms of skill set. Therefore, in order to provide instruction at the PCC level, our trainers must be at PCC level or above.
Q: If I am accepted into the Train-the-Trainer program, does that mean I automatically become a Lead Trainer when I’m done with the program?
No. Acceptance into the Train-the-Trainer program does not guarantee a role as an iPEC Lead Trainer. Our program is rigorous and although you will continue to develop as a coach as you learn and integrate the material at a much deeper level, some may not complete the program and move into the Lead Trainer role. We evaluate progress and suitability of each candidate at numerous touch points along the way.
Q: I have a full-time job, will it work for me to participate in the Train-the-Trainer program?
The intensive training program is full time (40 hours/week) for 5 months then the Lead Trainer role is part time. We invite you to review the training requirements in the job description to ensure you understand the time commitment for the program. Please keep in mind, if you become a Lead Trainer, there will be considerable time commitments and we ask Trainers to commit to travel and module training at a minimum of 9 times per year plus the willingness to lead webinars and other opportunities as they become available.
Remember the train-the-trainer program is an intensive full-time engagement that is designed to to develop proficiency and independence in the delivery of iPEC’s curriculum. In order to be eligible for the program, candidates are required to assure that they can fully participate in all program activities/events. Training schedules will be provided to participants at the beginning of the program so they can work around the program time requirements.
Q: I have a conference and other events scheduled during the months of the program. Can I take time off to cover those?
It depends. That would be addressed on a case-by-case basis at the time of application. If it is deemed not to be disruptive to the training process, time off could be taken on an unpaid basis with pre-approval. Program participants are requested to adjust their calendars so they can fully engage in the activities.
Q: I am already a trained and experienced facilitator/consultant. Do I still have to complete the Train-the-Trainer program to be eligible to be an iPEC Lead Trainer?
Yes. Please note, the Lead Trainer role is quite dynamic and much different than traditional facilitation as we go far beyond imparting knowledge in the classroom by entertaining, engaging, connecting and drawing students in. From there, we work on the WHO, shifting consciousness and therefore we are seeking masterful coaches who entertain, engage, and create a safe space in the classroom by “walking the talk’ of non-judgment and openness. We cultivate Lead Trainers who are masterful coaches and exemplary connectors rather than trainers who have the ability to coach.
Successful completion of the Train-the-Trainer program includes proficiency in the skills related to content delivery AND a consistent energetic presence. In order to develop high conscious coaches, we want high conscious trainers!
Q: Are you able to share what the pay rates are?
The pay rate is USD $4,800 per month while in the “train-the-trainer/Lead in Training” program. During the training phase, this is a temporary full-time (40 hours/week) position.
Q: For in person modules the expenses like flight, hotel, food are covered or reimbursed?
The travel-related expenses are covered by iPEC.
Q: If we were to miss this intake for Lead-In Trainer, when will the next opportunity likely open up?
As iPEC continues to expand, the need for more trainers is ongoing. We normally recruit new trainers about once a year.
Q: Outside of the ICF credential and full time commitment, what is required to participate in the Train-the-Trainer Program?
Since both the Train-the-Trainer and coach training program activities are all conducted virtually, participants are required to have the technology necessary to seamlessly engage with the group. This means a strong reliable Internet connection and a computer/monitor that can simultaneously manage the training components (i.e., Zoom features, PowerPoint presentations, and digital script) with a clear audio and video stream.
Q: If I am unable to go through the Train-the-Trainer program right now, how can I assist in the classroom?
We regularly schedule Module Support Coaches (MSCs) to assist lead trainers with classroom activities (i.e., Zoom breakout rooms, pair up with students for practice activities). While this isn’t a trainer role, it is a vital part of the virtual and in-person classroom experience. We select Module Support Coaches (MSC) for the classroom that have demonstrated they are highly anabolic, engaged team players who enjoy supporting the students and the weekend training module. Our pool of MSCs come as a result of those volunteers who demonstrate being great supporters of the Lead Trainer and the students. Should you go on to become an MSC, this role is paid a stipend of USD $450 per 3 day module.
In addition to MSCs for virtual settings, we are looking for Module Support Coaches who reside in the following cities:
We encourage you to volunteer for an upcoming Mod! To sign up, complete this intake form and the Faculty Coordinator will review your request and respond to you as she is scheduling for each market. We encourage graduates to sign up to volunteer for one full training cycle (Mods I, II, and III) before consideration for the MSC role.
